Landed at Haluoleo Airport via Batik Air Indonesia

SEPTEMBER 02 – We arrived and entered Kendari airspace as the sun rose. I could see the sea, structures, and mountains from above.

Selamat pagi Kendari

An island community

I had that feeling of excitement as we landed at Haluoleo Airport. Ma’am Ade of Universitas Halu Oleo greeted us as we went outside the airport. She immediately treated us to Mie Bakso, an Indonesian noodle with meatballs. Here are our fellow exchange students from SMU and ADNU. We greeted each other and took a group photo for the simple welcoming ceremony.

UHO Men's Dormitory, our home until the end of September

Now comes the exciting part, introducing us to our home for the next coming weeks. Ma’am Ade showed us our rooms. I, of course, own one entire room as I’m the only thorn among the seven roses. Off to our next activity, buying things we need for our stay. I bought hangers, detergents, shampoos, and food for my needs.
