Meeting the Headmaster x Observing History Class

Arrived at SMAN 4 Kendari

SEPTEMBER 05 – Sir Nggawu introduced me to the Headmaster of SMAN 4 Kendari, where we discussed which subject will I teach. I chose both History and Geography.

I observed one class today. My Cooperating Teacher, Sir Egi, called me to observe one of his Grade 10 History Classes. The lesson was about History and the benefits of studying it. Sir Egi called one of his English-speaking students to translate for me since their medium of instruction was Bahasa Indonesia. That means starting from the lesson plans, textbooks, and PowerPoint presentations. Sir Egi started with his discussion while I listened attentively while writing my observations in my paper. My situation is different here in Indonesia because it is unlike in the Philippines, where we use English or Filipino, so I can easily understand.
